Family Service Association of Redlands
Redlands, CA, 2010
We were contacted by a local non-profit counseling organization to generate ideas for a neglected and under-utilized central courtyard. This central space needed to function as welcoming area for the organization, as well as an exterior room for private functions.
A field of new stone pavers was used as the primary floor material with a new drainage system below grade. “Donor” benches were designed at the edge of the courtyard to provide areas for conversation, as well as a functional backdrop for the donor bricks that the line the backrest. We worked with Landscape Architects to provide a rich array of drought tolerant trees and plants that would help mitigate the harsh summer sun and provide a much needed oasis for their clients. The exterior remodel also included new lighting and custom planters.
